3 Reasons Why Bernie Sanders Should Run As An…
Article #34: Politics
There has been a lot of talk from the mainstream corporate media about why Bernie Sanders should drop out of the 2016 U.S. Presidential race.
Anyone with one good eye or one good ear knows what that is. It’s because their interests lie more with the remaining candidates, both Democratic and Republican, than it does with Bernie Sanders.
What interests are those?
Money and power.
I totally understand why they would push this narrative.
This narrative allows them, the rich people who financially oppress working-class people, to keep making obscene amounts of money off of the backs of those working people through propagandized television ads and political contributions that push greedy capitalistic narratives.
So, although short-sighted, in the corporate sense that seems to makes sense. However, in a patriotic sense, that is one of the most unpatriotic things anyone can do.
Unfortunately, these establishment media outlets are no longer part of American companies, but now multi national conglomerates, with allegiance to money not country.
This is why they are fighting so hard against Bernie Sanders.
Bernie Sanders is, and maybe was, looking to ‘overturn the apple cart’ of not just these multi-national conglomerates, but the political system from which they massively benefit monetarily.
Due to this, positivity and truth for Bernie Sanders has been being virtually blackballed on mainstream media. Haven’t you noticed?
• When they speak his name, the tone they use is dismissive.
• When they talk about who he is, the verbiage they use is either dismissive or inflammatory.
• And when they mention his primary wins, both the tone and verbiage are dismissive.
And the country as a whole is completely sick of it. That is why a record number of people are claiming ‘independent’ politically, me now included.
This is why Sen. Bernie Sanders running as an independent general election candidate this election cycle is unique and would actually work.
Cenk Uygur from The Young Turks® talked about how he believed that would not be good and, based on historical precedent, he looks like he has a strong argument.
In 2012, 88 percent of Democratic-leaning independents voted for President Obama and 86 percent of Republican-leaning independents voted for Mitt Romney.
So, it looks like most independents would simply vote for one of the two major party candidates, not a third-party one. However, critics of the ‘Sanders independent run’ forgot one thing:
This isn’t 2012.
Here are three (3) reasons why Bernie Sanders, being the potential general election independent candidate, would buck that independent voting trend:
Like I said, differing opinions on running as an independent candidate aside, one thing on which we can all agree:
Bernie Sanders is a very special politician.
He must be to not only be the most loved politician in the country, but to, again, be liked more than pop star juggernauts Beyoncé and Katy Perry.
Could that translate to votes in the general election, even from far right, disenfranchised Republicans? In the immortal words of probably the 3rd most disliked Republican in the country, behind Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz:
“You betcha!” ~ Sarah Palin.
